Cochem, Germany

Cochem, Germany is about an hour from where we are, so we decided to give it a visit this past weekend.  It was absolutely beautiful!  It felt like we literally stepped into a post card.  It was the perfect little day trip.  

The Cochem Castle (or Burg) sits on the hill above Cochem, which is on the banks of the Mosel River.  The vineyards are planted on the hillsides, very steep hillsides!  We wandered through the picturesque shops, and made sure to buy some Mosel Rieslings before we left.

Here are just a few pictures from the many I took.  I am going to set up a Flicker account to accompany the blog, since it is hard to put more than a few on each post.

We had lunch at a restaurant that had a terrace overlooking the Mosel.  I'm drinking a Mosel Riesling next to the Mosel River!
